The G10 lamp is a beautifully shaped design by Swedish designer Greta Grossman. It was created in the early 1950s and was reissued in 2015 by the renowned Danish design label Gubi. This lamp was given the product name G10 because it was the tenth design of this designer for the original manufacturer.
In the 1930s, Greta Magnusson Grossman won first prizes for her designs. A cradle created for Swedish Princess Birgitta received special attention. In 1940, Greta Grossman and her husband, musician Billy Grossman, emigrated to the United States. Her career only really began when she opened a shop in Beverly Hills. Her clientele included many Hollywood celebrities such as Greta Garbo, Frank Sinatra and Joan Fontaine. Greta Grossman has also designed many items of furniture and lamps as well as worked with an architect in the 1950s.
The G10 pendant lamp shows designs from the 1950s can still be hip. The simple and elegant design fits perfectly with current interior trends. You would never think that the design is over 60 years old.
The matte coated aluminium shade has a slightly rough textured surface that gives this elegant lamp a special touch. The rounded inside of the shade has a white coating and together with the satin opal glass diffuser provides glare-free and pleasantly light on a table’s surface.
This classic pendant lamp is made of powder-coated steel and has a diameter of 36.5 cm. The lampshade is available in matt black or white. The lamp has an E27 socket and is 21 cm high. The four metre long textile cord is of course in a matching colour and can be shortened as required, so that the G10 lamp can also be used in rooms with low ceilings. We recommend that a halogen lamp up to 42 watts be used as the light source.
The G10 collection consists of this pendant lamp and an elegant floor lamp.
